Zaini, I think Zainab does not need a MRI, I don't think MRI can determine the iron level in the liver. You need Ferriscan to determine it. If Ferriscan is avaialble in Karachi go for it else you can search for the closet center.

for your concern,ferriscan is not available in Karachi,and presently we can't afford to go anywhere abroad for it due to the financial crises we are having,anyways i'll wait for things to get better.

Hi,

I think you can still opt for Liver Biopsy which is being used for years to determine the LIC. We had done liver biopsy on our daughter when she was 2 years old. Its a 20 minute procedure and the patient can go home in about three hours.
