Opinion needed

Hi there :rotfl I am new here.

Both me and my husband are thal -Alpha minor with the same deletion of sel. I have gone thru 2 miscarriges in 6 monthe, both is due to the fetus abnormal caused the the trait. According to my doctor he told me that i can op for IVF-PGD if i am want to get pregnant. and the results of the off-spring will be 100% normal . Has anyone tried this method b4?

Hi,

If you use IVF, only embryos that don't carry thal genes will be implanted, so there is no risk of the child being thal. Many parents use this method to avoid taking the risk of having a thal major child. With both parents carrying two alpha thal genes, it is very risky to conceive in the normal manner, as babies that inherit two alpha thal genes from each parent will not survive pregnancy, as they can't produce any useful hemoglobin.

as a mother of 1 with a new one coming i just want to tell you that i personally would do whatever it took to have a healthy baby
