Hi Zaini,

Thanks for sharing my friend.  I haven't heard about this particular 'cure' before, but I have heard of others who claim to do the same thing.  I wonder what the mechanism is by which they claim to cure thalassemia - but unfortunately many of these people are playing with our emotions and desperation to get our money  :(   It sounds pretty promising doesn't it?  But if they were to have scientific evidence of this capability we would already know about it.

Anyone else?

Sharmin

This "cure" pops up often. Most recently it was discussed at http://www.thalassemiapatientsandfriends.com/index.php?topic=1664.msg13786#msg13786
It might be of some use for minors but that would depend on the cost.
Andy

All we are saying is give thals a chance.

Hi Zaini,

I saw this website when i first came to Malaysia three years back, while i was searching for thalasseamia associations and treatment centres here..

As Sharmin said,
but unfortunately many of these people are playing with our emotions and desperation to get our money  :(   It sounds pretty promising doesn't it?  But if they were to have scientific evidence of this capability we would already know about it.

which i totally agree to...

thats the reason why i dint even bother to post it here or check on the thing.. im very skeptical when it comes to all these alternative treatments without any scientific back up, because i have been subjected to too many of these when i was younger, by "alternative treatment specialists" in Maldives who claimed to "cure" us thals. My poor parents who were so ready to try anything because they so desperately wanted to cure me was disappointed everytime.

However, I could try to see if there is any authencity in this claim since am here anyway.. i will call them tuesday (monday is a holiday in Malaysia) and try to see what this is about and if they have any valid proof that they cured any thals..
