This is one of the most challenging diseases being faced by mankind with virtually no permanent treatment for those who suffer from it. The only real treatment is periodical replenishment of blood through transfusion.

We are working very hard on this disease. So far there has been a limited success and two distinct treatment strategies have been designed. We have found these to work on a good percentage of cases. However, though this percentage is small it is infinitely better than what is available from conventional medicine where there are virtually no successes to show.

We are listing below only a handful of cases from the hundreds that are being successsfully treated by us to illustrate the point.

As can be seen from the citings the patient's need for blood transfusion has gradually diminished and ultimately stopped. At the same time the patient's Haemoglobin count gradually rose and allowed him/her to lead a normal life.

                                             patient is stable and she is living a normal life .
 
2 Mr SM                       M  7     >>> Did not need blood tranfusion for over 5 years. Hb increased
                                             from 5 to 9, over the last 5 years under our treatment
                                         
 
3 Ms RG                       F  6     Hb level is remaining higher than before. However, the patient has
                                            to do blood transfusion every month inspite of elevated levels of
                                            Hb because of non-availability of blood. Earler Hb used to drop to
                                            4.8 within a month, now Hb is dropping to 7.8 within a month

 
4 Ms KD                       F  10   >>>Did not require blood transfusion since 2001. Earlier required
                                            every 6 months
 
5 Mr AS                       M  2    Hypersplenism with sepsis, epistaxis >>>>. Patient feels much
                                            better.
 
6 Ms PB                       F 10    >>>> Never required blood transfusion under our treatment since
                                            1998. 8 months ago her Hb was 7.2gm%. Her Hb had gone down
                                            to 4.8gm%. Now she is much better and is living a normal life.
                                            Spleen was enlarged earlier but now is normal in size.

 
7 Ms SB                      F 27     >>Improving - Earlier required Blood transfusion every 15 days -
                                            now she needed it after 7 months

 
8 Ms KG                     F  35     >> Hb was 5.9 gm% on 21.02.05, now Hb is 10.9 gm% on
                                            22.03.06. Did not need Blood transfusion. No allopathic medicines
                                            used since our treatment .

I would find it hard to believe that in a country with as many thals as India, that we wouldn't hear about successes from this treatment if they existed.

Not to put any one down, but I agree with Andy.
There has been no news break announcing many successes
and with all our many phrases, I would rather concentrate my energry on the tried and tested than the might..
Do you guys know what I mean?
Although we are always trying new things, there is always facts to support it and with aromatherapy, that tends to help us emotionally.

I have contacted this doctor two years ago and i asked him many questions which he answered all but actually many answers were vague to me. Later on by coincidence i read in one of the sites that his treatment was tried by a thal major patient for one year and there were no positive results. My daughter has been consistently taking Ceanothus americana, a homeopathic medicine. This has definitely helped in keeping the size of her spleen small.

I came up with a research work regarding homeopathic medicine use in thalassemia.Pulsatilla Nigricans , Ceanothus Americanus and Ferrum Metallicum. It is a work of scientists at Kalyani University and few Homeopathic doctors.I did get in touch with Professor KhudaBukhsh over email to know more. mixed  .. once a day before breakfast ..
i use this to controle my spleen a few year ago ( when i had spleen ) i found it usefulll.. it works for me .. u can try it by the  advise of ur homepathic doctor ....

There was some concern in this thread about using ferrum metallicum because it is basically iron shavings. However, homeopathic doses are very small, so the iron content of this treatment would be minimal. It should be stressed that these homeopathic agents were used in conjunction with hydroxyurea in this study, and not by themselves. The combination of the treatments led to better results than either by themselves.

Thanks very much for forwarding the link of this article. I haven't read this before but I was aware of this  study. I have seen the interviews of some of the researchers involved in this project on a TV programme - about two years back.

@ hopefullmomy thank you for such usefull  information.. thank you for providing their e-mails  .... but i m still confused that it is a prrooven treatment  for thal .. is this treatment bring some good results  in thal .... still confused abt it ... professor khuda bakhsh , dr. debarsi and doctor saif ul haque ... have they proven the medicine theyr prescribingis proven its affectiveness by its results ..  i dot know anything abt it and and dont want run her to there to try new treatments ..... could anyone tell me that he tried these medicine and found these medicine affective ( medicine that prof.khuda bakhsh, dr.saif  and dr.debarsi prescribing to patient ).....

One of my very close relatives is a homeopath. So, I had the privilege of going through several books on Homeopathic Materia Medica and case histories. As far as my understanding goes, homeopathy is not an exact science. The prescriptions are made on the basis of symptoms and manifestations rather than the name of the disease / type of infection / type of deformity etc. The Doctors primarily work on a trial and error basis. It could also be such that the same medicine may not be working well for two persons exhibiting similar symptoms. So, the experience of the doctor matters a lot. It is indeed very very difficult to ascertain whether some Doctor is a fraud or not.

i agree to u that homeopathy is not a proven knowledge.. its  all abt experments on patients ..
if something suit to patient and giving benefits for the patient homeo doctor will own that treament ... or if that treatment does not suit any patient homeo doctor will say ... it was the fate of this patient not the reaction of medicine ... i mean to say he will not own the side effects  or their own misstaken treatment ........
