This would be very different from a stem cell transplant, which uses mature stem cells harvested from blood. This would be using embryonic cells which can become any cell in the body. However, this is a very new line of research that has been slowed greatly over the past 8 years by Mr Bush as he pandered to right wing religious elements in the US. Over the next few years we will be seeing much progress in this field. I think the only thing that has happened so far in relation to blood disorders would be the work on retrodifferentiation, which is still a fairly experimental process which does not rely on embryonic stem cells.
