MYELOSTAT (Hydroxyurea)

I have been advised MYELOSTAT (Hydroxyurea) by my doctor. But I am unable to get it. Can somebody suggest, Where I can get MYELOSTAT in India? .

I don't know whether myelostat is hydroxyurea or not,but hydroxyurea is available in India quite easily.It is available in various names.Common one is known as Hydrea.You will get in local reputed chemist shops.

Homoharringtonine (HHT, Ceflatonin, Myelostatb) is a different drug from hydroxyurea and most research into it has been done in regards to leukemia. I would be very interested in learning which properties of homoharringtonine would apply in thalassemia, if in fact, this is the drug that has been prescribed. It is quite possible that there has been research done on homoharringtonine in India, that has not taken place in the US due to regulations. Even though it is a naturally occurring drug, there are issues about consistency and potency that have slowed research in the west. Please keep us updated on this.

It is very peculiar that different drugs may have the same name in different countries.Today it came to my notice that Myelostat is really Hydroxyurea in India.It is manufactured by Cadila and available.It is not the homoharringtone as available internationally.
One has to be very careful in taking the drugs and check the original composition.Hydrea ,as I have found - hydroxyurea in India , but It is Hydroxycarbamide in another international brand.

look for a Hydra in any chemist shop it is easily available in any chemist. The brand name to be trusted is " Dabur" or " "Cipla".
