Agwa (date filling):

4-Using your hands, make small balls of the batter and keep aside for filling.
5-In the palm of your hand rub a batter ball and make a hall in the center, dip a small filling ball of your choice inside, fold the batter over it and rub again.
6-Arrange all balls in a large nonstick baking tray and bake for 25 minutes in a 375F preheated oven.
7-Take out of oven and cool. Some people may dust the cookies with sifted icing sugar specially the walnuts filling.

What about kunafah, Manal and Zaini??? Do you usually make kunafah at home in your countries or one can find it only sold in the stores?

Yes, Zaini it is an arabic sweet with cheese. Manal can explain it further. I thought that all Muslims had kunafah by tradition but obviously I was wrong.

By the way, your hand is gorgeous!

Eid-ul-Fitr Mubarak to all of you!

Hi Lena and Zaini :hugfriend

Kunafa  is made by drizzling a row of thin streams of flour-and-water batter onto a turning hot plate, so they dry into long threads resembling shredded wheat. The threads are then collected into skeins.

You can make kunafa in many different ways. For example Kunafa nabulsi is made by making two layers of kunafa stuffed with nabulsi cheese (like the ricotta cheese) then you pour over them aheavy sweet syrup and finally sprinkle some nuts over it (very famous in Jordan, Syria, Lebonan, Palestine)

In addition to the above, it can be stuffed with custard, full cream and nuts.

For quick recipe, you can fry the rough kunafa on a pan then put some bananas and honey over them

Now a days some people goout of traditionans stuff it with fruits and cream like strawberries, dates, rasberries or marron glace. But my favorite is mangos with cream

Hope i can invite one day on a plate of kunafa :wink
