Dear all...............
We got the Coombs test result and it shows no problem.
The low Hb level is probably due to the fact that his donor Masumi is also a minor. This week the Hb is 10.9 (last week it was 10.8).
Dori, about the medicines....he is on 4 oral medicines at home and he will be given iv antiviral therapy on and off-the first time next week-ganciclovir twice in that day on out patient basis. At home he is on immunosuppresant(ciclosporin-the dose of which has been tapered since today and he will be on it for a year in all),anti hypertensive (amlodepin-till the bp is normalised), sulfomethoxazole (to prevent infection and he has to take it till 6 months of bmt) and ursodexycholic acid (for the liver which he will be on till 3 months of bmt)...Other than that there is calcium supplement but that was on previously as well.....
His serum ferritin will be checked after 3 months of bmt and then he will be chelated till the levels are normal.
If there is anything else anyone wants to ask, please feel free......I wish I had someone to ask such questions before went ahead for it.....especially from someone who has experienced it! No problems about answering them to the best of my ability.....
Love,
Madhavi
