I am 30 too but my 1 year old daughter has Thal Intermedia, she is currently going to Westmead Hospital. How long has it been since you have been diagnosed with Thal Major?? Got any tips about good doctors who know lots about it??

Hi, happy new year!!
I am under dr day. Got my next appointment in Feb. How is your little one going?? Katia is going really well... haven't had her transfused yet but she seems to be a happy active little toddler and loves her food.

I was diagnosed with beta thal minor with major status in the mid 70's.  At that time they told me that what I had was basically the same as sickle cell anemia, but the nationality origins were different.  I know that your sons situation sounds serious, but just want to encourage you not to believe this disorder/disease is in control.  I am 49 and still alive and happy.
Blessings to you and your family,
OldThalGal
