Awareness - Thal Day in May 2010
« on: April 07, 2010, 06:29:23 PM »
I was talking with someone from India today and they wanted some guidance with what should be put in the newspaper for awareness of Thal. I think he was mentioning about a pamplet.

As Andy has mentioned so many times, Awareness is one thing lacking in countries like India. There are millons of carriers and more than 75% might NOT be aware they are carriers. Could someone guide in what would be catchy and attractive for reader's attention? I know there are great writers on our site and thought of getting input from them.

Thanks Narendra. I was also contacted by someone from India who is looking for slogans or ideas to use for International Thalassemia Day. My only experience with Thal Day was my trip to Maldives. and we don't even hear much about it here in the US, so I do need everyone's help. Please respond to this thread with ideas of how to create more awareness and especially catchy little slogans or one-liners that people will remember. This can do a lot to keep thalassemia in people's minds throughout the year. Awareness is so important, yet many people fight it. We can't hide our heads in the sand. The only solution to the hemoglobin disorders is through public awareness. Prevention is impossible without worldwide awareness and we play our part in this.

So let's hear some ideas.
Andy

All we are saying is give thals a chance.

Since the idea is to create awareness, I hope everyone feels free to use any slogans for their campaigns.
