Decreasing transfusion intervals

Hb was 10 at three weeks so transfusion interval increased to 4 weeks this time.

At what level do you usually transfuse him? Because for me 10 is transfusable.We keep our daughter's hb between 9.5 and 10 pre transfusion.

Hi Zaini,
From what I understand the policy at our hospital is to transfuse when Hb between 9 and 10 and give next appointment at same interval. If Hb is greater than 11 then they dont transfuse but postpone another week. If Hb is below9 i.e, 8.---  then they transfuse but give next appointment a week earlier.For a Hb of 10.--- they do transfuse at that time  and may give the next appointment at same interval or one week later.
