I am 57 years old and my wife finally found out what is wrong with me! Both my parents, including my brother, two sisters and I were born on the island of Sicily and I never gave it a thought that I was always healthy until I had my first CAT scan, proceeding a motorcycle accident. Both my spleen and liver is slightly enlarged, which was not due to the accident. I started researching the Internet and came to the conclusion that I have always had Thalassemia Minor all my life. I remember the awful tiredness. I could sleep through a nasty thunder storm and after I awoke, I still felt tired. The morning is not my best time, but the night is. Tomorrow I have a doctor's appointment and I will re-educate my family doctor to what I have. I have beaten the tired feeling by taking anti-depressant medication prescribed by my doctor. I also beat the palpitations, by taking a prescribed medication. I hope this helps someone else.
