I think all these (deathes) if due to the thalassemia co-morbidities not due to the Exjade treatment

Is there a link to this article? Most deaths from Exjade that I have read about previously were not in thalassemia patients, but in older patients with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS).

Please supply links when posting from articles.

All we are saying is give thals a chance.

It would be nice if Novartis would supply the statistics, so we could know how many of the deaths were in thals. The risk does seem to be higher in older patients with other pre-existing kidney or liver problems.
Ferriprox is a better chelator and safer.

please tell me something.

if a person has thalassemia and he gets regular transfusions and is chelated correctly.

is there still a lower than normal mortality rate?

infections through blood transfusion looks like one reason...
