Hi Zaini,

If the home remedies work, make them a regular part of the routine. I agree that adequate fiber is essential as is staying well hydrated. The main side effect that has prevented many patients from continuing with Exjade, has been digestive issues, so dose splitting, taking it with food and getting plenty of fluid before and after taking the drug are all important for reducing the nausea and stomach discomfort.
Andy

All we are saying is give thals a chance.

The few things to watch for are cramping and pain in the upper right hand quadrant of the belly could be due to gall bladder sludge or stones.  If this is the case, we find that doing a mild gall bladder cleanse is very helpful.   An ultrasound may be helpful.  Most likely what lil Z is experiencing is due to exjade.

Thanks for the input guys.

She is taking exjade in split dose,400 in the morning and 500 in the evening, and i don't give it to her on empty stomach anymore.and yeah home remedies mostly do work,i'll look in to her fibre though,i don't think she is taking much.

Pratik,

I hope that you feel better soon.  I have been replenishing little A with coconut water (with minerals), cal/mag, vit B since yesterday and he seems a lot better.

During our trip he decided it was a great idea to sprint everywhere, he was running very fast the entire time and the temperature 108 F some days.  I think he must have been dehydrated, because he is usually not affected by physical activity, he constantly plays ice hockey, soccer and is in track and field.

Other than dehydration, there are many reasons for cramping - ranging from minor imbalances and deficiencies to more serious such as kidney, liver or problems with blood sugar.  It is a good idea to see a doctor to rule out anything serious - even though the minor problems are more likely.

I am curious to know if you are on exjade, and if there is a link between exjade and dehydration and perhaps mineral deficiencies.

Yes Sharmin, I am on exjade. :)

And haha, I am most often known as a water man in my house. I drink about 12 big bottles of water a day or so. I naturally love water a lot and I always have a bottle with myself, whether it be going to sleep or been chilling out over computer or playing.

So I stay hydrated very well, all the time.

I feel better now, as well. I've increased the intake of Vitamin D now as well, just drank a sachet of 60,000 IU yesterday and I continue taking it daily via capsules as well along with Vitamin E & Calcium with Manganese. Not sure how the system is there, but here Manganese comes stuffed along inside the Calcium tablet along with 250 IU of Vitamin D, so its nice.

And good to hear that little A is feeling well now. :)
Every child is special.
