Vein health can be tricky for thal majors, since one of the most necessary nutrients for healthy blood vessels is vitamin C, and thal majors should not take high doses of this vitamin, especially if they have a high iron load, as C can release too much iron into the blood, where it can travel to the heart and cause a reduction in heart function. However, low dose under 250 mg daily are permitted. My preference is that thals get most of their vitamin C from diet. High C foods like citrus are ideal, but should not be taken at the same time as high iron foods. Citrus makes an ideal snack for thals.
