I've heard about it in past and that it is derived from some flower plant.

How good is it to promote liver health?

I regularly recommend milk thistle for patients with hepatitis, as it helps to regenerate liver tissue. It is an extremely mild and safe herb. If you search "milk thistle" on this site, you will find many references.
