Bone Marrow Transplant of Shaheera Faheem

Hi to All,

My daughter Shaheera (20 Months Old Baby Girl) was diagnosed Thalassem Major on December 31 2011, we did HLA typing and my wife was 100% matched with Shaheera's HLA. Two month before we have completed Pre Transplant Evaluation and her all reports were fine. We were given the final date i.e. 8th March, 2013 to start BMT process by Armed Forces Bone Marrow Transplant Center Rawalpindi Pakistan.

I will keep you posted on the progress, please pray for Shaheera

Haven't you tried Hydroxyurea?

I have discussed about hydroxyurea with the doctor and he told that due to severe mutation hydroxyurea will not work.

Today is second day in Transplant Center and just 150ML blood was transfused to increase the HG level. Central line catheter will be placed after two days.

Please pray.

Today just haircut done and hickman line placed. Shaheera is not happy today, she is frightened.

This is one of the toughest days.....it will all pass ....God bless u and give u and ur daughter strength to go thru it
