Hi Andy,

Yes I agree with you, it seems that Ostocalcium B12 Syrup can be replace by Osteocare as it contain Magnesium and Vitamin 3 but do you think that i should go for separate B12 syrup. or is it fine not to give B12 syrup? meanwhile i will also check with my pediatrician.

BTW is it fine to give one teaspoon for Wheat grass powder to my 4 year child having around 11Kg of weight and last but not least  :wink which company Vitamin E tablet i should give to my child as i remember there was a big debate regarding which company make natural Vitamin E?

As Always thanks alot for your knowledge.

Regards
Sushil

Yes, iron overload causes joint pain. Exercise will help bone strength. Walk as much as you can fit into your schedule. I'm envious of your D level. I have yet to reach 40 and feel that >50 is optimum. Give your body time to get the iron out and to repair the damage that iron caused. It takes 17 months to remove half the iron from your heart, so this is a long process. Once the iron load is low, it is easier to keep it low, because you're no longer cleaning out large iron stores.
Thanks for the compliment Andy. Yeah it really feels good to achieve an accomplishment and that too sooner than I expected.

And yes, Gym was stopped for about a month or so due to exams and now this monsoon, but I'm planning to start it this week again now.

Curious as to why you don't take mega doses of like 15,000 IU for 25 days and make it to the >50 level? Or do you want to go slow?

Sushil, neurobion (I think I spelled it correct) should do just fine.

For Indian brand of Vitamin E, Natvie 200 IU should be fine. And yes, it's natural.

Sorry I couldn't answer your questions on Thursday, my transfusion was going on while I was reading the replies on this topic, haha.

Pratik, I take 5000-10,000 IU daily. I feel it's a good dose and now with summer upon us, I will be getting natural D. A warmer climate would be a better remedy for me, so I could get sun for more than a few months each year.

Sushil, unless one has been diagnosed as deficient in B-12, high dose supplements are not needed and are just a waste of money. Wheatgrass should be seen as a food and not as a drug or supplement. You don't have to limit it, but you also want to watch and make sure there is no stomach ache from taking too much.

Dear Andy,
Would u please tell me, which one is better?
1.
http://medguideindia.com/display_generics.php?comp_id=2193&generic_maskid=26769&brand_id=94932#

2. it contain L-lysin (i am not aware about it)
http://medguideindia.com/display_generics.php?comp_id=686&generic_maskid=28219&brand_id=104401

3.
http://medguideindia.com/display_generics.php?comp_id=686&generic_maskid=4074&brand_id=36016

Presently i am taking this one
http://medguideindia.com/display_generics.php?comp_id=1006&generic_maskid=4043&brand_id=30406

Help me to choose the good one
D,

L-lysine is an amino acid, one of the 3 BCCAs (Branched Chain Amino Acids). It's a good profile element. However, in the tablet, needless to say, it's far less. It is usually found in 3 grams or so per scoop of 30g protein shake that I consume.

I think this is very good:

Citrate form of (magnesium atleast, unaware about Calcium) is the best form of Magnesium one could get, I take it (Mg Citrate). So I think Calcium citrate is superior too. Also it's profile is good, zinc is in good amount too.

I just received my another order from Puritan today (Its I think 4th time I'm ordering from them) and my experience has been pleasant with them.

Sushil, believe me, order a few suppliments from Puritan like Calcium/Magnesium, Milk Thistle, Vitamin E & D, and they will be EVEN CHEAPER after adding shipping cost when COMPARED TO Indian prices.

Shellcal, an Indian company, which makes calcium which has 500mg calcium and just 15mg magnesium (such a low magnesium is of no value, because magnesium is hardly absorbed even from 250 or 500mg) costs around Rs 2000 INR ($20 USD), but calcium with magnesium (500mg calcium, 250mg magnesium) 300 tablets on Puritan will cost you around Rs 500 INR ($9 USD).

Granted it takes some time (now-a-days, around a month) to reach to India, but its worth it. And order items below $90-85 (including shipping) and you won't be charged any customs.

And yeah, you won't find Osteocare in India.

And sorry, I'm not experienced with that site or brand, I wish I could be of help though.

Best,

-P.

Hi!
I currently have osteopenia, which is bordering on osteoporosis. Is this an effective calcium supplement?

Puritan's Chelated calcium, magnesium, and zinc

http://www.puritan.com/calcium-supplements-001/chelated-calcium-magnesium-zinc-004290#back

I realize that Osteocare is recommended, but I've only seen it sold on sites outside of the US. I've been ordering most of my supplements from Puritan.
Thank you for your help!

The zinc is often overlooked, but this supplement contains it. Zinc is very important for bone growth and strength.

Yes, Puritan's product has the full recommended dosage in it whereas Osteocare just has close to 5mg or so. So in all manners, this is better than osteocare. I just used to take Osteocare because these horse sized tablets would get stuck in my throat. My father and family takes the same product very easily haha; I guess my throat is little small. :P
