Dr. Sodani plans to start within 2013 BMT from haploidentical mother in India

I'de like to inform the thalassemia families that Dr. Pietro Sodani and Cure Thalassemia plan to start before the end of 2013 BMT from haploidentical mother to child with thalassemia in India at the Narayana Hrudayalaya/Mazumdar Shaw Cancer Centre.
A thalassemia child can do a BMT in India even if he doesn't have an HLA-matched donor, using the protocol 30 invented by Dr. Sodani. It took many years of work, but now here we are!

I've one question. Is there any age group barrier? For example I'm 18 so are there any risks involved in case someone of my age wants to try? Not saying I want to, but info is always good, and if it advances well, why not give a shot maybe?

As you can read in the FAQ of the Cure Thalassemia website (http://www.curethalassemia.org/faq/), Dr. Sodani doesn't recommend BMT for patients older than 17 years, because the risk is too high.
The best results are with young (<7 years) children.
