Hi Rumana and welcome,

Can you tell us a little more about your condition? How often do you transfuse and what is your hemoglobin level? What is your ferritin level? Are you taking and vitamin supplements?

Your low Hb is most likely why you are so tired. If your Hb is 6.5 without taking blood, then you would be a thalassemia intermedia. If you aren't taking blood you need to try to raise your Hb. Take at least 1mg folic acid every day and try taking wheatgrass tablets. A B vitamin complex and vitamin E may also help. If you can't raise your Hb, you might have to start transfusing again. You should also have a ferritin test done and if your iron is high you will need to take a chelating drug like desferal or kelfer. Make sure you follow a nutritious diet and avoid foods that are high in iron.

Hello Rumana,

Welcome on the forum,i am sorry to hear you are not feeling well, please take care of your self, low hb can be the major cause of your tiredness and low energy, you can definitely use wheat grass tabs, or may be hydroxyurea,or think about getting transfusions again.

Take care,

ZAINI.

Dear Andy,

Today is rumana's (Bangladeshi) birthday. Many many happy returns for her.
I witnessed that she is silent in this site since 6 years. do u have any news of her?
May Allah bless her with all good things.
