Ok so i need help on this please. My son is 2 years old and is sickle cell diseased. His ferretin levels currently are 600+. I need to know how to use IP-6 and for how long? Also how to use green tea extract (capsules or liquied concentrate). Do those medications stop him from absorbing more iron or do they lower his ferretin levels?
My son who is currently on regular blood transfusion to save his spleen will be put on hydroxyurea. If that doesnt work then he will get a splenectomy.. but no further blood transfusion his doctor says.
