Good evening everyone,
For the past one and a half weeks I have been experiencing a constant dryness in my mouth along with the constant need to drink water. This has subsequently led to frequent urination. I have been drinking a lot of water but the symptoms persist.
I paid a number of visits to my hematologist the past 2 weeks, conducting a number of tests in order to find out what's causing this. The tests show that I don't have diabetes, my liver and kidneys are unaffected, and my hemoglobin levels are as usual (around 10).
Unfortunately, in addition to the symptoms I mentioned above, the past few days my Bilirubin has been abnormally high (around 15.5 mg/dl) and I am more tired than usual. Furthermore, a urine test indicated that my urine contains small traces of white blood cells. I am expecting further results from additional urine tests this week.
My doctor has been unable to find the problem that is causing the dryness in my mouth and my constant thirst along with my subsequent elevated bilirubin levels. I was advise to stay home, eat well and rest.
If anyone has any information that could help me and my doctor solve this mystery, I would greatly appreciate it
P.S. I am a 22-year old male with Beta Thalassemia Intermedia, average hemoglobin (10.5 mg/dl) and higher bilirubin than norma
