The HbF is high indicating the possibility of beta thal minor, but at 9 months t's not unusual to still see an elevated level of HbF. The HbA2 is normal, and this is usually high in beta minor. What does the CBC show for MCV, MCH, RBC and RDW?

RBCs              3.66  x10E6/ul
RDWSD           40.1 fl
RDWCV           13.6 %
MCHC              34.5 g/dl
platelets          372  x10e3/ul
MBV                 8.7 fl
BCT                0.109 %
PDW                10.4
WBCs              8.05  x10e3/ul

i have some questions :
is there any chance that HbF change to become HbA  as you said the high level of HbF is usual in this age?
if this is beta thal minor, is he in danger?is he need any vitamins or supplements?

Thanx alot Andy

Some of the values support a diagnosis of thal minor, but not enough to say for sure. I think a hemoglobin electrophoresis should be repeated after the child has turned on year old.
