Thalassemia Minor Link to Male Infertility/Seamen Count and Quality?

Hello all - not quite sure where to turn so looking for some help from the community.  I'm in my early 30s, in relatively good health, and have lived with Thal Minor my whole life.  Never really did anything about it or paid much attention to it because of the lack of symptoms.

I recently did a fertility test and discovered that I have extremely low sperm count, motility, and quality.  Doctor appeared surprise.  I mentioned Thalassemia but he somewhat brushed it off as a concern.

I've done some google searching and found some loose information on Thalassemia and male infertility, primarily in Thal Major. Does anyone have any information on Thalassemia Minor and male infertility that can result from it?  It would be greatly appreciated!

Appreciate the reply. Thalassemia Minor is not linked to extremely low sperm count though?

I don't think it's ever been studied. Male thal minors often report low testosterone though, so there may be some hormonal connection.
