lung problem
« on: October 22, 2015, 06:00:44 AM »
Hello everyone,

I'm 33 y.o major talassemia patient. I had splenectomy and cholecystectomy in 2001. I never had a blood transfusion and i'm not chelating.
Last week my doctor ordered CT scan and it showed that there is a pleural based mass noted adjacent to the medial aspect of the left lower lobe measuring 5.2X4.0X7.0 cm.
I don't smoke and never had any lung problem or infection. My doctor ordered lung biopsy to find out more info. I'm curious is anyone have any idea what is this might be?

Also my blood test results showed very high level of WBC - 35 and platelets 870, my hgb is 9.7

Any information you can provide me would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Saidcik,

Did your physician say whether the tumor is a localized fibrous tumor of the pleura (LFTP)?

Please keep us posted and wishing you the best,

Sharmin
