Modified citrus pectin (MCP)

Dear Thal community,
I have recently read something about Modified citrus pectin (MCP) as a natural chelator. It sounds very interesting... Something like IP6...
Has anyone some knowledge about it? Andy?

I don't think it has value as an iron chelator. It chelates heavy metals but does not seem to remove other minerals.
This is from a description of Now brand MCP.

A recent study indicates that modified citrus pectin promotes healthy urinary excretion of common, mild environmental exposures of heavy metals such as mercury, arsenic, cadmium, lead and tin without altering excretion of other nutritional minerals, including calcium, magnesium, iron, copper and selenium.

  oh, okay. That's a pity. So I rather stay on α-lipoic acid...
