About six years ago I had breast reduction surgery - in my mid-thirties. I thought at the time that this procedure would give me a new lease of life, taking a load off my back.
Since I had the surgery I have suffered from extreme chronic fatigue that has not so far responded to anything. I have been getting my bloodwork done periodically and it always shows low hB, but the doctor says this is 'normal' because of my thal trait.
I am wondering whether having surgery could have triggered an increase in oxidisation in my red blood cells. Obviously as I am getting older the symptoms associated with thal trait could be worsening anyway, but they have been markedly worse since my surgery.
I feel like most of my vitality has gone! Has anyone else had this experience post-surgery?
