Mychael had a follow up appointment at his pedi today - we have to go to the Pediatric Pulmonary specialist because he tested positive for the CF marker. I guess they've been having a lot of false positives lately, and his pedi believes his is a false positive because sometimes an altered CF gene has been "taken advantage of" by an altered heterozygote condition like thal or sickle cell.
I'm not sure how THAT works at all, or even how to explain it! I've been trying to research it, but nothing goes into detail! So, we're also doing a fetal hemoglobin test on him at the next appointment. We'll see what happens
