Hi Andy,

I have been using Enzymatic Therapy Cell Forte w/IP-6 & Inositol (powder) 14.6 oz for my son. Also there is IP-6 INOSITOL HEXAPHOSPHATE Capsules available from Puritan's Pride.

I will very much appreciate to get your comments about which one to use.

Thanks and regards

Both products are good sources of IP6. The Enzymatic Therapy Cell Forte w/IP-6 & Inositol  has some added minerals which are a nice addition, as they are exactly the minerals thals should be taking. If the cost isn't a problem, I would say that Enzymatic Therapy Cell Forte w/IP-6 & Inositol  offers more. The Puritan's Pride IP6 is much cheaper, so if the cost is a factor, this would also be a good choice.

Hello Mr. Andy.

I would like to ask you can I give IP6 to Priya. She has never received any transfusion. Her SF is not normal but low about 319. But Priya has black pigmentation on her Gums and on her nails end, last week when I visited her Hemo he told me that this is because of iron deposit. So, I was thinking may be IP6 can help her.

Regards.

IP6 is perhaps the safest supplement around. Anyone can feel safe taking it. In addition to helping remove iron, it is a powerful antioxidant and can be of use to most people. It may be very helpful for Priya. Take it twice daily on an empty stomach.

Can anyone recommend a brand of IP6 that I could try?  I'd prefer something that I could easily swallow or that doesn't taste too bad.  :-\

Right now Puritan's Pride has a sale on the IP6 capsules. 5 bottles for $25.98. It's a good brand and a great price. I recommend 4 daily. Two in the morning and two at night. Taken on an empty stomach gives better absorption. Simple, easy to take caps.

IP6 is absolutely safe. Tests have shown that doses as high as 10 grams daily had no side effects. For a child that age I would suggest 1-2 capsules daily for starters. If she can't swallow the capsules they can be opened and mixed with water or juice.

We do not know how much measurable effect you may find on iron levels, using IP6, but people who have used it have mentioned a noticeable change in skin color in a matter of weeks. Although IP6 is known to chelate iron, I think its properties as an antioxidant may be even more important. The ability of IP6 to inhibit the oxidative effect of iron in the cells may be its most important feature.

My bottles arrived the other day, so I've been taking them.  Thanks for the info, Andy. :)
