Tedi,

That's really good. Keep up the good work and get the liver iron a bit lower. Your program is working well.  :biggrin

Tedi,

I've been meaning to ask you: did you start transfusions in Thessaloniki?
You keep up with the good work. A little more desferal perhaps to bring liver  iron down.

Lena.

Some of you may heard it already, but for the ones who hasn't...
I received a great Fe report back: it's only 500 (498)!!  :happydance
Unfortunately I feel pretty poorly due meds and low hgb. It keeps dropping. this time it was only 8.1 However I never believed I would ever receive such fe report.

The use of chelation therapy with autism really does make me wonder about the connection between vaccines with mercury and autism. Many parents swear their children changed immediately after vaccinations but the medical establishment has been adamant in its refusal to condemn putting a toxic heavy metal into the bodies of babies. I am not convinced that any amount of mercury is safe.

I am happy to hear that your children are doing better. Metal containers can partially neutralize Exjade, so all contact with metal has to be eliminated.

Hi All,
I havent been keeping up on the site as ive had so many things been going on but i was reading back through previous posts & though this was interesting i have a son with autism, thanks for the post andy.

The ferritin level should be measured at least once a year I believe for thal major's.

I have been non-compliant for years and I am finally taking my medication every night. My ferritin level is over 5000 but hopefully now it will start dropping. As a Thal Major your ferritin level should be checked every other month never never once a yr. The only thing you should have done once a yr is a liver biopsy def. not ferritin level...
