i want to know that do u guys hav any iformation about compact hb machine?
by wich v can cheack our hb at home...
i want to know where is it avaible n at wht cost?

I had asked one of my medical equipment supplier for it but they denied of such equipment existing in Pakistan (at least in Rwp/Isl).

The smallest thing that I saw which can do this job is the blood analyser that is as high as a full tower desktop PC and in a cube shape.

Let me know if you find a portable version as I would also like to have one.

I have seen compact HgB testing m/c for measuring haemoglobin only at stores such as CVS pharmacy etc. It costs approx $20-$25 but is good for only *one time use* only...which is expensive. I know in countries like India/Pak...this testing is pretty trivial and costs around $5 or may be less.

For those who don't know about CVS, CVS is a big pharmacy chain in USA.

I am going to check with the doctor if it is feasible to have it available at home. However, I feel the use of cuvette is burdensome for a four year old who is on a regular desferal therapy.

i think it is an all in one type of meter ( gluco meter + hemoglobin checker  etc..etc..) bundled with diffrent test strips ( example .... blue is to check hemoglobin and red is to check BSL )....
i will sugest you to read complete specifications ....

today i give a call to the guys of hemocue...

they have a direcion about 10 miles away from me...

they tell me more about the brandnew machine they have.

and they will help me to get one for free...

u can mess ur hb in one minute with only one drop of blood....

it sounds veri interresting and i dont have to go so often to

hospital to check hb-level.....

by the way....the cost normaly is 600 euros...about 950 dollars.

I may buy but probably would do once a week only. This is to take readings how fast the hg is declining in a week interval. However, whether this information is useful for the doctor or not we have to check or else we can go to Disneyland in Florida.
