Hello Atiya,

Welcome on the forum, its good to see another married thal, that proves that thals can live a normal life, can you tell us what are your ferritin levels and how often do you transfuse?

High iron levels can effect your glands and in result hormones so it would be great if you have controlled ferritin level,we have a few members who are thal majors and moms also.

For hep C ,recently one of our members tried a combination of honey and Nigella ( kalonji) and found it really useful ,You can read about it in this thread.

Welcome once again and feel free to ask any questions you have in mind.

Zaini.

Please do try nigella for hepatitis. Milk thistle is also known to purify and heal the liver and actually help liver tissue to regenerate.

As far as the periods, this is the result of iron overload and that must be addressed before you can consider pregnancy. If you do have high iron, you need to chelate aggressively to reduce the iron load, and I would highly recommend antioxidants like vitamin E and IP6 to help prevent damamge to your glands.

I know three Aussies from our group who have used milk thistle with positive effects on their hepatitis. Aston Dialo takes milk thistle and nutritional supplements and he is in very good shape and his hep is totally under control.

Dear Dr. Erum

Actually i prefer anything that relates tothe media, cause media is so powerful in terms of
1- Awarness
2- Preventation
3- Donations
4- Blood Drives

In the 8th of May we have to concentrate on the non-thal community. In my country, each year a big conference is held where a international and national doctors make lectures concerning the latest topics in dealing with thal. Here is the outline for the conference of this year
