hai Joyce,
I'm also from malaysia, selangor to be exact. How much is desperal pump in Sabah?
-
Hi there mummy_timmy- is ur son/daughter have thalasemia?
Oh well deseperal pump here in sabah at the moment is around RM2500++. For working family myb it is affordable but those who are self working it is very expensive. The price is actly just 1 of the problm, the main problm is to get the desperal pump itself because it is no where to find here. we don't know where to get it from? How about ur place? mybe it is lot easier to find the pump there?
thank you for concern, mybe we can exchange lot of informtns between sbh n slgr after this.

Hi,
If you contact the individual state Thalassaemia Associations, you can find assistance in obtaining a pump fairly easily.
Back when i was in Sarawak with the Association there (10 years ago), we worked towards getting government subsidy especially for desferal, previously when it was not subsidised, it costs RM30 per vial.
