Title: Do Thalassaemia Patients get free medical in USA??
Post by: kats786 on November 04, 2011, 09:37:45 AM
Hi,

I would like to know if the patients in the states who have Thalassaemia have to pay for their treatments? We are researching to come and move over to live but I will need to see if the treatment is free for me or not as here in Cyprus we get free medical, medication, MRI etc etc etc.  I don't really have much internet access and would appreciate if you could e-mail me on kats786@hotmail.com and my cousin will inform me of your replies.... thank you in advance :o)

It is highly unlikely that you can find free care in the US, as we have no national health care. In many ways, the US is an extremely backwards nation.

Thalassemia treatment is free in Canada - and most drug plans cover a large part of exjade or desferal.  We feel very fortunate to be in Canada.
