I have BS in Biomedical Engineering (in USA), and currently working at Roche Diagnostics supporting projects developing blood screening and viral load quantitation tests. My all-time-dream was to become a doctor (either Hematologist or Cardiologist), but due to some reasons, have not pursued it. Damn, I could've been an excellent Hem/Onc!!
Well, for now, I've worked in the biotech industry for 2 yrs, and now, I am just starting to think about MBA (I still haven't overcome my desire of becoming a doc), but am absolutely happy with what I'm currently doing. I was always interested in medical field but I also always loved math and engineering. btw, my parents are looking for rishta for me in case you know someone who may be interested (just kidding
)... uhum... Back to the topic: Realizing how closely related my work is to my life as thal (blood screening and safety), is mind-blowing.
So, no matter what you guys are up to, realize what you have achieved so far (despite the challenging life we have outside of school/work)! From all my friends (all non-thal), I was the only Muslim Paki-American chic in biomedical engineering major! I know how hard it can be managing everything at the same time and also sometimes not being able to share what you're going through with anyone else.
Just be proud of yourself!!
