But the problem is that FIFA wants a big sell out crowd for it's finals.
This is achieved by getting the big countries like Germany, Brazil, Argentina, Italy, to get to them to the finals, and this way the money rolls in..

I know you are upset, but this is bad logic ..... all the tickets for the qtr finals and semi finals, etc were sold even before anyone knew who would be playing ..... and if you have a qtrs/semi ticket, you would go to see the match irrespective of the teams .... and i think more neutrals would rather watch the aussies than the italians .... so there, FIFA had nothing to do with it.
