I've been taking 800mcg for about three weeks now. 400 in the am and 400 before bed. I also added Vitamin E. So far so good. Actually I've been making it through the day including workouts without being tired at all. Before I could barely make it to 6pm. I'm sure getting to bed at a reasonable hour helps too.
Correction: Just looked an it's actually 800mcg! I'm taking 2 a day. Too much?
Considering I'm taking 5mg a day which is actually 2-3x of 1600mcg, I think you should be okay.
I think we should be pretty okay as Andy said that adults can take up to 1-5mg daily.
Folic acid is always interesting, lol, I too realized that I've been taking 5mg all these years when I read the pack.
I've included few supplements to my workout regimen as well. Arginine/Ornithine, Glutamine and Protein shakes before workout gives a blasting workout experience.
And taking casein and glutamine just before bedtime helps relieving muscle soreness.
I've also recently came to know about ZMA (Zinc, Magnesium, B6), so instead of taking them separately, I now take it's combination 2 hours before bedtime and I love it's aid in helping me sleep faster and feeling great when waking up.
I go to bed around 1:30 in the morning and wake up at around 9:30 so I try to get at least 8 hours of sleep.
After I started working out and taking all these supplements correctly along with other essentials like carnitine, IP6, Vitamin D, calcium, natural E, etc, I feel my body is improving. My strength has increased and I feel my muscles are little fuller as well.
Try ZMA, it'll be helpful for you too Bobby for sure.
Best,
-P.
